Drawing on five years of senior leadership at the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Megan Greer counsels companies, institutions and individuals on congressional investigation defense, executive branch and agency scrutiny, complex internal reviews and related state-level matters. She works at the intersection of government enforcement and corporate risk, helping clients respond to high-stakes inquiries strategically and effectively.

Megan is experienced in all phases of government investigations and internal reviews, from preparing witnesses and crafting testimony for congressional hearings to defending depositions and managing large-scale document and information requests. Her approach is practical and proactive, ensuring clients are well-positioned in fast-moving, politically sensitive environments.

Megan draws on her deep government experience in senior leadership roles at the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). For four years, Megan led the FBI’s Congressional Oversight & Investigations Unit, coordinating all aspects of the FBI’s oversight response and serving as special counsel to the Office of Congressional Affairs. Then, as a senior leader in the FBI’s Office of the General Counsel, she oversaw complex and sensitive matters involving government disclosures and litigation strategy. Her work at the FBI earned her the FBI Director’s Award for Excellence for Outstanding Legal Support.

Earlier in her career, Megan served in the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Legislative Affairs as a Deputy Assistant Attorney General and Senior Counsel (2019–2021), where she played a key role in managing the Department’s legislative and oversight strategies. She also previously practiced for more than 10 years as a member of the congressional investigations and litigation practice in the Washington, DC, office of an international law firm.
