Former President Donald Trump promises that if he is reelected that he will cut Americans’ energy costs in half in just one year.
Scott Segal, co-chair of Bracewell’s Policy Resolution Group, told The New York Times that electricity prices are a result of complex factors, such as inflation, demand growth, regulation and extreme weather.
“Some of these factors can be addressed at the margin,” stated Segal, but “controlling the weather is a tall order.”
