As companies continue seeking refunds for tariffs that were struck down earlier this year, attention has shifted from eligibility to the pace of repayment and the challenges of processing an unprecedented volume of claims. While billions of dollars have already been returned to importers, many businesses are still waiting for funds as Customs and Border Protection works through more complex refund requests.

“People are optimistic that they’ll eventually get their refunds,” Bracewell’s Josh Zive told Agenda.

“No one likes to be improperly deprived of access to their funds any longer than they have to be, so there’s some natural impatience any time you’re waiting for it. But truth be told, the system seems to be moving through [the refund requests],” Zive said.
