Rising data center power demand and oversupplied natural gas markets are creating new opportunities for partnerships between technology companies and upstream energy producers. As pipeline constraints and grid interconnection delays persist, producers are increasingly looking to monetize natural gas closer to the wellhead through long-term agreements that support behind-the-meter power generation for data centers.

“It stems from the fact that upstream producers are looking to develop additional markets near their production sites,” Bracewell’s Bryan Clark told Mergermarket.
