Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly becoming a fixture in the legal profession, offering powerful tools to streamline work while raising concerns about accuracy, ethics and oversight. Attorneys using AI said the technology should not be feared, but approached carefully.

Bracewell’s Alamdar Hamdani, a former Department of Justice attorney, told 12News that AI has already become an essential resource for many lawyers – including prosecutors.

“AI is a powerful tool, one that I think probably every lawyer needs to learn how to use,” Hamdani said. “Every prosecutor is probably using it right now when it comes to their cases.”

Bracewell’s Jonathan Hance said the growing presence of AI tools is driven by how easy they are to implement.

“I use it all the time as a needle finder,” Hance said. “It’s really great at comparing agreements and helping me identify clauses that might be absent or need to be changed.”
