Bracewell’s Brittany Pemberton was recognized by Law360 as a Legal Lion of the Week for her work in helping to secure a US Supreme Court decision that enables fuel industry groups to challenge the US Environmental Protection Agency’s Clean Air Act waiver, which has been used to enable California to set its own greenhouse gas emissions standards for vehicles. In a 7-2 vote, the justices reversed the DC Circuit’s conclusion that fuel industry groups lack standing to challenge the Biden administration’s restoration of the waiver that President Donald Trump previously withdrew in 2019.
