It has been more than a month ago that Vice President Kamala Harris stated that she no longer favored a ban on fracking – a key issue in Pennsylvania and a must-win state for the presidential candidate.
Frank Maisano, of Bracewell’s Policy Resolution Group, told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that the Biden administration has been inconsistent on energy policy. He noted that the administration is trying “to serve two masters … a group of progressives who are demanding that they do everything that they want them to do … that does not match up with the energy demands in the country … especially in places like western Pennsylvania.”
The Keystone State is the second-largest producer of natural gas in the country and a state that President Joe Biden narrowly won four years ago in part by appealing to both environmentalists and union energy workers.
