Having reclaimed both the White House and the House of Representatives, Republicans are looking to use the Congressional Review Act to roll back recent regulations issued by the Biden administration.

Bracewell’s Joe Brazauskas, a former counsel on the House Oversight and Reform Committee, told Law360 that Congressional Republicans’ environmental and energy priorities match that of President Donald Trump’s.

“Republicans are aligned that energy is a critical aspect of this administration,” Brazauskas said. “They view energy as an important national security issue and as an important economic growth issue. So those are the types of regulations where they think that using the CRA will be beneficial for cutting red tape to allow for additional energy production.”
