DUBAI AND LONDON – Bracewell LLP advised on two market-leading transactions that were honored at the IJGlobal Awards 2024 – MENA (Middle East and North Africa), which honor greenfield infrastructure and energy achievements in the project finance industry.
Bracewell was among the law firms recognized for their work advising Vision International Investment Company (Vision Invest), Abu Dhabi National Energy Company PJSC (TAQA) and Gulf Investment Corporation (GIC) on the Juranah Independent Strategic Water Reservoir Project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which, won Water Deal of the Year for 2024. The firm – led by Andrej Kormuth, Oliver Irwin and Tom Swarbrick – represented the consortium in its successful bid for, winning and financial close of the project, which is the first of its kind in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under a Build, Own, Operate, Transfer (BOOT) model, placing greater reliance on the private sector in developing water infrastructure.
The Al Ansar Hospital project won Social Infrastructure Deal of the Year in 2024 after being named PPP Deal of the Year at last year’s program. This landmark initiative comprises developing, operating and maintaining a 244-bed public emergency hospital in Madinah, Saudi Arabia. The facility will improve healthcare services for the residents of Madinah, as well as for pilgrims during Hajj and Umrah. The Bracewell team – led by Swarbrick, Irwin, Tom Jamieson and Kormuth – advised the lending group of Alinma Bank, Riyad Bank and Natixis Corporate & Investment Banking. The developers of the project are Tamasuk and Alghanim International.
