Amid shifting political priorities and an ever-changing enforcement landscape, Texas remains a focal point for white-collar litigation. Bracewell’s Jeff Vaden recently sat down with The Texas Lawbook to discuss enforcement trends, the Trump administration’s priorities, what they could mean for Texas and more.

One topic of conversation included the Department of Justice’s pause on investigations into US companies under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA). Vaden said, “I would not be surprised to see the “pause” in FCPA investigations to be lifted and a return what’s been the traditional pursuit of these investigations.”

With regard to Texas specifically, Vaden told The Texas Lawbook that immigration will remain a priority, especially in the Southern District and Western District of Texas. “The number of immigration cases should only increase, pursuant to more aggressive immigration enforcement policies,” Vaden said.
