HOUSTON – Bracewell LLP has been shortlisted for two awards at the IFLR Americas Awards 2026. Bracewell is a finalist for Best in State Law Firm of the Year: Texas, and Houston partner William “Trey” A. Wood III is a finalist for Best in State Leader: Texas. Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in New York City on October 15, 2026.
Best in State Law Firm of the Year: Texas (Finalist)
The recognition reflects Bracewell’s market-leading restructuring, M&A, real estate and financing work across industries. With a deep bench across four Texas offices, the firm represented clients on several significant transactions over the last 12 months, including:
- Kinder Morgan, Inc. in its $505 million acquisition of Monument Pipeline, a natural gas system serving the Houston metropolitan area.
- Harbour Energy plc on its $3.2 billion acquisition of US-based LLOG Exploration Company LLC, which marked Harbour’s strategic entry into the United States.
- Phillips 66 in its acquisition of the remaining 50 percent ownership interest in WRB Refining LP. The deal gave Phillips 66 full ownership of two major US refineries it has operated since 2007.
- Lincoln Property Company, headquartered in Dallas, in the acquisition and development of a 191,000-square-foot data center in Chandler, Arizona — one of the fastest-growing data center markets in the United States — to provide scalable infrastructure for hyperscale and enterprise customers.
Best in State Leader: Texas — William “Trey” A. Wood III (Finalist)
Partner William “Trey” A. Wood III chairs Bracewell’s financial restructuring group and represents debtors, creditors, committees and other parties in interest across the bankruptcy process and out-of-court restructurings, including plan creation and confirmation, asset purchases and sales, claim allowance disputes and bankruptcy litigation.
In 2025, Wood represented Key Equipment Finance in the Chapter 11 cases of Worldwide Machinery Group, Inc. and its affiliates. He also represents Callodine Group in complex bankruptcy proceedings involving Saks Global, the parent company of Saks Fifth Avenue.
