HOUSTON – Bracewell LLP has been named a finalist for Energy Legal Services Provider of the Year as part of the 2026 Gulf Energy Information Excellence Awards. Winners will be announced at a ceremony in Houston on October 15.

A Repeat Recognition

Bracewell was the inaugural recipient of this award, winning the category in 2023. This year’s finalist nod reflects the firm’s continued leadership on transformational matters across the energy industry, spanning conventional oil and gas, pipelines, solar, wind, carbon capture, energy regulation and litigation.

Recent Representative Matters

Bracewell’s global energy team has recently advised:

  • Harbour Energy plc on its $3.2 billion acquisition of US-based LLOG Exploration Company LLC, which marked Harbour’s strategic entry into the United States
  • Phillips 66 in its $1.4 billion acquisition of the remaining 50 percent ownership interest in WRB Refining LP from subsidiaries of Cenovus Energy Inc., giving Phillips 66 full ownership of two major US refineries it had operated since 2007
  • The Masdar-led consortium on the financial close of the $1.1 billion, 2-GW Al Sadawi solar project in Saudi Arabia, one of the world’s largest solar power projects and a transformative addition to the Kingdom’s renewable energy infrastructure
  • Sol Systems in a $675 million financing to support the buildout of utility-scale solar and storage projects – one of the first solar construction warehouse credit facilities in the market
  • Trafigura on a $1 billion prepayment agreement with the Republic of Gabon, a landmark sovereign-backed commodity financing supported by future crude oil production across a diversified portfolio of assets
