DUBAIBracewell LLP’s market leadership in corporate and energy law in the UAE has been recognized at the inaugural Law Middle East Awards 2025, which shortlisted the firm for Corporate Team of the Year and Energy Team of the Year. In addition, senior associate Amelia Bowring has been named a finalist for the program’s Rising Star Award.

Led by Dubai Managing Partner Chris Williams, Bracewell’s corporate and securities team has been recognized as a Corporate Team of the Year finalist for its role representing Sony Music on the successful acquisition of world-renowned artist Amr Diab’s catalogue of music. This deal is the first of its kind involving the acquisition of an artist’s music catalogue in the Middle East. In addition to the catalogue acquisition, Amr Diab has signed a multi-album deal with Sony Music.

As an Energy Team of the Year finalist, Bracewell is honored for its work representing the consortium comprising Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar), Korea Electric Power Corporation and GD Power in connection with the successful bid, development, financing and shareholder arrangements of the 2-GW Al Sadawi solar PV project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Oliver Irwin, who chairs the firm’s project finance practice, led Bracewell’s cross-border team on this transaction.

Bowring, who won the Private Practice Rising Star Award at the Law.com Middle East Legal Awards earlier this year, is recognized for her work on the Sony Music transaction and the firm’s representation of General Motors in the UAE and the company’s wider Middle East operations. Bowring assists Williams with the Dubai office’s corporate and commercial practice and has extensive experience in cross-border transactions, corporate advisory and commercial contract work.

The Law Middle East Awards 2025 celebrates the firms and individuals shaping the region’s legal industry through innovation, excellence and meaningful impact.

Winners will be announced on November 4 in Dubai.
