LONDON – Bracewell (UK) LLP advised Anzana Electric Group on their senior secured portfolio debt facility from British International Investment (BII), the UK’s development finance institution, to accelerate the construction of distributed energy infrastructure across Africa.

The facility will support Anzana in developing a portfolio of run-of-river hydropower projects across East, Central and Southern Africa, expanding reliable electricity access for communities, businesses and industry.

Gordon Stewart, who led the transaction for Bracewell, commented: “This transaction was a fantastic opportunity to work alongside the creative and entrepreneurial Anzana team, using our expertise in portfolio financing generation assets in Africa, to help yet another amazing fast growing indigenous developer, driving growth in Africa.”
