Bracewell’s Seth DuCharme discussed with CQ Roll Call a recent case brought against two individuals in a multi-billion hack of cryptocurrency exchange, which suggests that enforcing the rule of law under existing statues is viable.
DuCharme stated the case shows that authorities have the tools in place to pursue bad actors.
“What the case stands for is that while new legislation is being considered to address technological advancements, enforcing the rule of law under existing statutes is still viable,” DuCharme said.
