SAN ANTONIO – Jane H. Macon, a partner in Bracewell LLP’s San Antonio Office, will receive the San Antonio Business Journal’s Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2025 Women’s Leadership Awards on August 7.
Widely respected for her leadership and mentorship, Macon – who has more than 50 years of service dedicated to supporting parks, museums and programs for children – is also recognized for holding roles in numerous organizations, including Women Lawyers of Texas, the San Antonio Bar Association and the National Women’s Political Caucus. She has played a key role in major local projects, including the University of Texas at San Antonio’s downtown campus and the future San Antonio Arboretum.
“Jane Macon is one of the most extraordinary human beings I’ve ever met,” former San Antonio Mayor Henry Cisneros told the San Antonio Business Journal. “San Antonio has benefited immensely from her energy and her vision and skills from the days she was city attorney.”
Macon focuses her practice on public finance and administrative law, public and private partnerships, real estate, civil litigation, zoning, planning, condemnation and municipal bonds. She made San Antonio history when she became the first woman to serve as city attorney from 1977 to 1983.
