New Mexico is the second-largest oil and third-largest natural gas-producing state. This year was forecast to see little oil output increase from the state’s shale patch producers, given the projected lower barrel prices.
But with the strong push from the Trump administration for more production and changing market conditions caused by the events in the Middle East, it is likely that US production will ramp up, Bracewell’s Frank Maisano told the Albuquerque Journal.
