Seth Barsky, a former deputy assistant attorney general in the Department of Justice’s Environment and Natural Resources Division, has joined Bracewell in its Washington, DC, office. Barsky’s practice will focus on federal environmental and natural resources law, including permitting, regulatory issues and interagency policy.

Jason Hutt, chair of Bracewell’s environment, lands and resources department, told E&E News that Barsky’s leadership experience at the federal level makes him well positioned to help companies overcome regulatory hurdles.

“Having managed hundreds of federal attorneys and overseen cases that set national precedent, Seth knows how agencies think and act,” Hutt said. “Seth can spot regulatory pressure points early on and help companies structure operations to stay ahead of potential issues.”
