Bracewell’s Policy Resolution Group senior political strategist Liam Donovan told S&P Global that he does not see a full repeal of the Inflation Reduction Act if Donald Trump returns to the White House with slim majorities in the House and Senate.
“It won’t be day one root-and-branch repeal,” Donovan said. “It’s just not something that’s going to happen.”
Meanwhile, Donovan sees a Kamala Harris administration with slight Democratic majorities likely focusing its energies elsewhere than the IRA.
“They’re going to have to deal with those same looming non-energy related fiscal items that I think are going to dominate the bandwidth that they have,” added Donovan.
