Bracewell’s Scott Segal joined NPR’s “Morning Edition” to discuss President Donald Trump’s national energy emergency declaration and how it differs from the one former President Jimmy Carter declared in the 1970s.
“One of the things that makes this really different in the current situation, we don’t have an oil embargo or an oil shock going on right now in the United States,” Segal said.
Segal added that the current energy demand is not the same kind of emergency as an oil embargo, but it is currently a genuine challenge for the electric grid.
