HOUSTON – Houston Volunteer Lawyers (HVL), the pro bono legal aid arm of the Houston Bar Association, featured Bracewell associate Nour Haikal in its “Volunteer Spotlight” for the week of August 13. Haikal was recognized for her role in a pro bono tax case involving a young immigrant mother.

Haikal’s background as an ESL tutor to the adult refugee community in Houston, as well as her experience as a HVL law clerk, made her a “perfect fit for the job,” according to HVL.

Houston Volunteer Lawyers is the largest provider of pro bono legal services in Harris County and the surrounding areas. Thousands of private attorneys volunteer their time and expertise each year to provide free legal assistance on civil legal matters to eligible, low-income area residents.
