HOUSTON – The Houston Volunteer Lawyers (HVL) honored Bracewell LLP as an Equal Access to Justice Champion for 2025, which recognizes firms that meet or exceed their annual commitment to the organization.
Law firms and other Houston businesses make a pledge to handle at least one pro bono case for every five lawyers in their Houston office. Bracewell – which handles a wide range of pro bono matters concerning veterans’ rights, tenant rights, guardianships, corporate formation, intellectual property, family law matters and various civil disputes – was highlighted among the firms that exceeded their pledge for the bar year. As part of its commitment to HVL, the firm handled more than 40 cases over the past year.
HVL, which has a longstanding relationship with the Houston Bar Association, is the largest pro bono legal service provider in Harris County. It partners with thousands of attorneys and the Houston Bar Association to deliver free civil legal aid, donating millions in services to low-income residents for over 40 years.
