LONDON – Bracewell (UK) LLP was among the law firms recognized for its role in Eni S.p.A.’s sale of its wholly owned subsidiary, Nigerian Agip Oil Company Limited, to Nigerian exploration and production company Oando PLC, which won Oil & Gas Deal of the Year, Africa, at the IJGlobal Investor Awards 2025.
Led by partner Adam Blythe, Bracewell represented Eni S.p.A. in this transaction, which was the first successful M&A deal to follow the regulatory approval process under Nigeria’s new Petroleum Industry Act and was a “pathfinder” transaction for how to navigate this method and transition environmental and decommissioning responsibilities. The transaction also won Domestic Impact Deal of the Year at the IFLR Africa Awards 2025 earlier this year.
The annual IJGlobal Investor Awards recognize the best fundraising and deployment, as well as M&A activity in the global energy and infrastructure sectors.
