With no rules released for clean fuels credits and the expectation of none being finalized before President Joe Biden leaves office, Bracewell’s Tim Urban told Bloomberg Tax that we have “come into a period of tremendous uncertainty.”

“Congress will see somewhat of a tidal wave of increased lobbying by companies and trade associations in the fuels sector to continue to evolve federal tax incentive policy,” said Urban.

Efforts to influence policy is only expected to intensify with many in the biofuels industry seeking changes to their existing credits and new producers attempting to get access to credits.
