According to people familiar with the process, President-elect Joe Biden is expected to nominate Jennifer Granholm as secretary of energy. The former governor of Michigan has been a strong voice for zero-emissions vehicles and is an alternate energy advocate.

Bracewell’s Scott Segal, who represents energy companies, said the former governor “is well positioned to run DOE.” Like other governors who have run the department, Granholm may be able to bring a “bully pulpit to the job,” Segal added.
