WASHINGTON, DC — Dee Martin, partner and co-chair of the Bracewell Policy Resolution Group (PRG), has been named a finalist for the outstanding diversity and inclusion contribution award at the upcoming Chambers Diversity & Inclusion Awards: North America. Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in Los Angeles on June 9.
For nearly two decades, Martin has been a preeminent figure in policy and strategic communications circles and a passionate advocate for equality for women, underrepresented populations and LGBTQ+ youth. She began her career with Feminist Majority Foundation, the organization dedicated to social, political and economic equality for women worldwide.
Martin is co-founder of Minute Mentoring®, an award-winning program featuring fast-paced mentoring sessions that connects young women rising stars with high-profile women leaders. She is also the creator and host of the all-woman-produced Madam Policy podcast, for which she interviews high-level female federal officials, corporate leaders and advocates known for shaping policy and creating history. Her co-hosts include a rotating group of Bracewell women partners, associates, and other lawyers and professional staff.
Martin and the PRG team also provided pro bono representation of The Trevor Project, the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to LGBTQ+ youth, in its efforts in establishing 9-8-8 as the National Suicide Prevention Hotline and to ensure that acutely at-risk groups, including LGBTQ+ youth, can access specialized services.
