About David

David Riley focuses his practice on restructurings and insolvency matters involving United States and international corporations. He advises clients involved in acquisitions, restructurings, bankruptcy proceedings, purchase of distressed assets and securities, and complex bankruptcies.

Prior to joining Bracewell, David served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Neil Bason, U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California, and as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Ernest Robles, U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California.

Energy & Exploration Partners, Inc. — and subsidiary debtors in its Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases

Venoco, Inc. — creditor negotiations and Chapter 11 reorganization, which resulted in the elimination of almost $1 billion in debt. The bankruptcy proceeding was completed in four months and with the agreement of all creditor groups.
