Nigerians Bid to Sue Shell in UK Over Oil-Spill Pollution

Robert Meade, a senior associate in Bracewell’s London office, spoke to Bloomberg Green about the UK Supreme Court hearing an appeal concerning the ability of thousands of Nigerians to bring claims against Royal Dutch Shell in the English courts for damage allegedly resulting from oil spills.

“It does not mean that a parent company might be liable for its subsidiaries’ actions or inaction,” said Meade.
