Two Bracewell Deals Recognized in the Houston Business Journal’s 2014 Deal of the Year Awards

HOUSTON —Bracewell & Giuliani LLP worked on two deals that were awarded “Deal of the Year” in the energy and money categories in the Houston Business Journal’s 2014 Deal of the Year awards.

Bracewell represented Kinder Morgan, Inc. (KMI) in its $78 billion consolidation deal, which has won Houston Business Journal’s “Deal of the Year” and “Deal of the Year” in the energy category. The deal, which closed on November 26, 2014, was the second largest energy deal in U.S. history behind Exxon Corp.’s acquisition of Mobil Corp. in 1999. For more information, please click here.

Bracewell also represented money “Deal of the Year” winner BOH Holdings, Inc. and its subsidiary, Bank of Houston, in the agreement to sell its operations to Independent Bank Group, Inc. for $243 million. Following in October, Independent Bank Group Inc. purchased Houston City Bancshares Inc. The acquisition of these two companies totaled $3.9 billion in assets. For more information, please click here.
