Bracewell Co-Hosts 2016 Houston Diversity Council Summer Associate Reception

Bracewell LLP was one of a number of Houston law firms who hosted a reception for the 2016 Summer Associates with the Houston Diversity Council on June 8, 2016 at the House of Blues in downtown Houston. Bracewell alum and current Houston City Council Member Amanda Edwards served as the reception’s keynote speaker.

Sanjay Bapat, an associate in Bracewell’s energy practice, attended the reception in 2013 as a summer associate, and again this year as an attorney representing the firm. “The Houston Diversity Council provides an opportunity for Bracewell to seek out diverse talent that is necessary to compete in the modern marketplace,” he said. “Law can often be an insular profession, and it’s commendable that Bracewell actively seeks to promote diversity within its associate and partner ranks. Icing on the cake was the speaker, a Bracewell Alum-turned elected official who demonstrates the opportunities a firm like ours provides.”

The Houston Diversity Council strives to enhance the overall recruitment, development, retention, and promotion of diverse legal talent within the legal profession in Houston, and works to support and encourage the creation of inclusive work environments.
