WASHINGTON, DC – The National Press Club honored Frank V. Maisano, a senior principal in Bracewell LLP’s Policy Resolution Group, as a winner of the 2019 Vivian Award. Established in honor of former National Press Club president Vivian Vahlberg in 1982, the Vivian Awards recognize NPC members for outstanding volunteer service to the club.

Maisano is a skilled media professional with more than 20 years of experience in strategic communications. His focus on media relations, crisis communications and strategic counseling services has allowed him to build a client base of US and international clients, including upstream and downstream energy companies, cement companies, transmission builders and chemical manufacturers.

He has been a member of the National Press Club since 2000 and has served on several important committees over the years including the Newsmakers Committee, which developed press conference-type events for important sources. He has hosted events with Lord Stanley’s Cup (and NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman); actor Richard Dreyfus; former presidential candidates Wes Clark and Jay Inslee; several Olympians; and cabinet officials such as EPA Administrators Lisa Jackson, Gina McCarthy and Andrew Wheeler, as well as former Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz. He currently is a member of the club’s Headliners Committee, which plans, organizes, promotes and executes the organization’s highest-profile events.

The National Press Club is a social and business organization dedicated to supporting the ongoing improvement of the profession of journalism. It has been a Washington, DC institution for more than a century.
