Bracewell Partners Klauberg and Shechtman Named Law360 MVPs of the Year

NEW YORK – Bracewell LLP is pleased to announce that the firm had a pair of partners named to the list of 2016 Law360 MVPs of the Year. John G. Klauberg earned an MVP of the Year designation in the Energy category, while Paul Shechtman was named an MVP of the Year in the White Collar listing. Both lawyers, along with their fellow MVP honorees, will be profiled by Law360 in the coming weeks.

Klauberg is representing Great Plains Energy in its pending purchase of Westar Energy valued at approximately $12.2 billion (including assumed debt), which is the largest deal in the United States regulated electric utility market thus far in 2016. He is one of only five energy lawyers in the country to be honored.

Shechtman is one of six lawyers to be named an MVP of the Year in the White Collar category. As one of the most respected white collar lawyers in the nation, Shechtman has been involved in some of the most high-profile cases this past year. One such case was representing Andrew Caspersen in parallel DOJ federal and SEC civil charges of securities and wire fraud in a scheme to defraud investors of $38.5 million.

A Portfolio Media, Inc. publication, Law360 annually honors the top attorneys in the legal industry for their exceptional work. This year, a group of Law360 editors reviewed more than 1,000 submissions from the top law firms, ultimately settling on 177 MVPs from 76 firms spanning 38 practice areas.
